Setup Metamask

If you already have Metamask or an alternate digital wallet set up, feel free to skip this page

Metamask is a digital wallet which allows users to hold digital assets (crypto-tokens) and interact directly with blockchains and projects which are built upon them. You will need a digital wallet such as Metamask to use the QuantiFi Web App.

You can download Metamask from the official download link - https://metamask.io/download/

Getting Started

Once you have downloaded Metamask, the extension will open automatically to the following screen (N.B the following images are taken from Metamask browser extensions, but the process is almost identical for the iOS or Android app)

Begin by clicking 'Get Started' and then click 'Create a Wallet'. Metamask will now ask you to enter a password which will be used to keep the extension secure on your PC.

Following this, you will be given a Secret Recovery Phrase, also known as a Seed Phrase. As stated by Metamask, it is very important that you don't share this with anyone, as having the Seed Phrase allows someone to back up and restore the wallet, thus giving them access to anything stored in it. Make sure you record this in a secure location, in case something happens in the future and you need to restore you Metamask account. This phrase functions the same way as the Verification Code you get sent when you click 'Forgot my Password' on a standard website.

Keep your secret recovery phrase secure.

Never enter your Secret Recovery Phrase on any website or share it with anyone you don't fully trust and have met in person. Whoever has your Phrase has full access to your wallet.
